Being raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the 80's, the culture was innovative and spontaneous, which has deeply influenced the way I approach my abstract, surrealistic work. The authentic sounds of Philadelphia life through jazz and hip-hop had great impact on my artistic style, especially because so much of it reflected roots tied to the motherland, Africa. My color choices in hues, textures, & technique are all a culmination of thoughtful consideration and special detail, all representative of creative influences that drive me to bring forth conscious imagery of us as a people in a futuristic manner.

My mother and father both helped add depth and dimension to how I see life and experience the world as they each offered different perspectives that I cherish even today, and instilled much discipline and spiritual principles that have weaved themselves into the tapestry of my life. My mother being a registered nurse, who was heavily involved in ministry, and my father being an accomplished musician, both helped to shape my creative outlook.

As an artist with many gifts and interests such as dance, comedy, photography, sculpting and music, I am regularly driven to push the envelope and try new things. My work is pretty unpredictable because I am ever evolving, like water. I capture the pure essence of human life through storytelling and painting from the rhythms of my heart, careful to display hidden truths through raw and revealing imagery. I enjoy using a variety of mediums on various surfaces such as mixed media collage painting.

From the age of 3 years old I have had an undying fascination and passion for creating, and continue to spend my years cultivating my gifts through the arts, and empowering others to express their complexities out loud and in color.
